Chongara (チョンガラ), full name Chobrin Gultan Goh Galach Dobran Dada XIII (チョブリン・グルタン・ゴー・ガラッハ・ドブラン・ダダ13世 Chouburin Gurutan Goo Garahha Doburan Dada 13 Yo) is a recurring character that appears throughout the Arc The Lad series. A member of the royal Dada family, Chongara is a merchant dealer who soon becomes filled with greed and only thinks of profit. With his lifelong dream of attempting to pilfer the Ancient Ruins of Zariban, he learns of the arrival of Arc and his allies and asks them for help obtaining the Summon Pot from the Ancient Ruins in exchange for information on the Light Spirit. Realizing that Arc helps for the good of people and not personal gain, Chongara joins Arc after being requested to do so by Yoshua, who he had met years ago.
In Arc The Lad II, Chongara no longer becomes playable as he dawns a new outfit and becomes the pilot of the Silver Noah alongside Chopin. His piloting skills however, would lead to a major decrease in his quality of life during the ending, causing him to end up in Testa homeless with only his summon pot and major amnesia in Arc The Lad III. He soon appears once again in Arc The Lad R after not appearing in the series for some time outside of cameos. In this timeline, he would come out of the Flying Castle without injuries and is now the king of the Dada royal family, as well as overseer of the Ruins of the Ancient King. He also looks after his niece, Aiysha.

Sometime in between Arc the Lad and Arc the Lad II, Chongara would travel to Cragh Island alongside Arc and his companions, with the Hemo-ji writing a monument dediated to him on a stone tablet. It is also revealed in the Peisus Library that, after Arc the Lad III, Chongara was able to get his life back in shape after his injury due to challenging the owner of the Pandira Casino House to a game over its ownership. After winning, he soon would turn it into Chongara's Casino House, but only five were made. The sole existing trophy, as well as information on Chongara was soon archived at the Peisus Library.
It is also inferred that, prior to his death, Chongara would free all the monsters from his summon pot, including Choco. After centuries of adventuring with other heroes, she would once again find the pot in Paltos and sleep there until the next person would call her. The pot would stay even after the Deimos invasion of Paltos, where it resides in present day Rueloon until Darc won Chongara's Pot after winning the Title of Deimos bout from the Rueloon Arena.
