All bow to Densimo!

Densimo

Densimo (Japanese: デンシモ Denshimo) was one of the seven playable Deimos characters, soon turned minor antagonist in Arc The Lad: Twilight of the Spirits.

He was the lazy chief of the Orcon tribe, known to be harsh with everyone around him until Darc takes his place after killing him. He is also the elder brother of Delma and is a temporary party member of Darc's Party during Awakening.

Appearance[]

I consciously made him look closer to a human than a monster, but of course, on top of those elements, I made a design that makes you reconfirm, 'You better stay away!'
Ryuichi Kunisue's comments about Densimo's design, from the Arc The Lad: Seirei no Tasogare Perfect Game Guide

Densimo is a large and burly Orcon who has green skin, spikes on multiple parts on his body, short dark hair, a tail protruding from his back, and an expression that remains constantly in anger. As mentioned above, he was designed to be more humanoid alongside other Deimos, but given a monster like apperance that would intimidate.

For attire, he wears dark blue-purple cloth wrap around his forearms and legs, a skull necklace around his shoulder, two gold braclets around the top of his biceps, and a purple fundoshi for undergarmets. Despite usually slouching, he is very tall, standing at about six feet. Due to his laziness and gluttony, he has a considerable weight, as can be told by the size of his gut. However, his arms, thighs, and pectorals are all muscular, likely to emphasize not just his strength, but also adds to his stature to allow him to be intimidating to the other Orcon.

Personality & Traits[]

A giant oni who manages the Orcon tribe, he's a vicious warrior to whom strength is everything.

The rowdiest among the Orcon. Currently the chief, as well as Delma's older bother. He's the type tht brute forces things and lets his strength do the talking, and is indifferent to tactical planning. Even his sister takes advantage to this, and he temporarily cooperates with Darc, who mocks him by calling him a poor excuse for a demon.

Arc The Lad: Seirei no Tasogare Perfect Game Guide's description

As the leader of the Orcon, Densimo is known to be very violent and brash with other Orcon, which extends to people like Delma and Gorma. During his introduction, when Gorma chastizes Densimo for eating firbles to gain strength, he angrily yells at Gorma and picks him up by the throat, threatening him that he can no longer do anything since he's no longer the leader of Orcoth. It's because of this that showing weakness is something he fears, which Delma uses to her advantage in order to get him to join her and Darc against the Drakyr by claiming that they had insulted the Orcons, even claiming that they had called Densimo a 'big yellow chicken'.

Despite being leader, he's known to be very lazy and often sleeps on his throne, usually forcing Zoram and Zugulo, alongside other underlings, to answer for him. He's also known to have a huge appitite for Firbles, often forcing the other Orcon to go out to Haystir Marsh to find them. This would later extend to eating the Firble Eggs Darc would keep a secret in The Church Ruins.

He's also known to be two-faced, as he originally intends to help Darc and Delma after they encounter the Drakyr in The Church Ruins, even going as far as to tell Darc he'll talk with Geedo about releasing him, however, after being ambushed in the Varam Barrens and chasing after Geedo and her Drakyr assailants, he joins their side after they promise to give him all of the Firble Eggs in exchange for helping them find the Wind Stone.

History[]

Densimo was born in the village of Orcoth into the Orcon tribe. His parents were killed at an early age by humans, of which made him an orphan at a very young age, along with his sister, Delma. As a result, the tribe leader, Gorma, became an early mentor to Densimo, and became a father figure to him. He and Delma spent much much time playing in the ruins outside of Orcoth. However, Densimo was not always kind, often finding himself in a foul temper. this extrended to sometimes being violent towards Delma, resulting in him breaking one of her horns one day.

At some point in time during his young life, Densimo became a warrior of the Orcon tribe and was eventually considered to be the strongest amongst them. This would eventually help him become the tribe's leader, a title he took from former Orcon leader, Gorma.

During the beginning of Darc's Story, when Darc is visiting Orcoth to buy Phoenix Blood for Geedo, he enters the Orcoth Arena where Gorma is confronting Densimo. Gorma tells Densimo how foolish his ideas are, and Densimo responds by grabbing him by the neck and throwing him, reminidng him about who the leader of Orcoth is. Later, he's seen sleeping when Zoram and Zugulo decide to fight Darc in the arena, even continuing to sleep after Darc's victory.

After Darc and Delma return to Orcoth after fighting humans in the Church Ruins, Delma convinces Densimo to help Darc fight the Drakyr. At first, Densimo mocks his sister for being around Darc, who the citizens of Orcoth see as a 'Deimos wannabe', but after making up a lie that the Drakyr insulted the Orcon and Densimo himself, he agrees, only if Darc helps him take out the humans near the Zedora Abyss. Following the defeat of the humans, Densimo begins to acknowledge Darc as a strong Deimos and offers to help conquer more land with him.

Densimo POV

"What we have is power! Power and nothing else!"

After promising Darc that he'd convince Geedo to free him, Densimo & his gang stumble upon her tied up to a tree in Varam Barrens. After fighting some monsters, Densimo gets knocked unconscious along with Darc & Delma. After regaining consciousness, Densimo chases after Geedo and the Drakyr that attacked him. Upon finding them at the Church Ruins, Darc finds him helping the Drakyr and eating his Firble. This enraged Darc, thinking he and Densimo were allies, and Denismo taunts him by reminding him what a Deimos truly is, and proceeds to throw him to the ground. Darc would then battle him, Geedo, and the Drakyr, killing Densimo in the process and taking his throne as King of the Orcon.

While Densimo would later be mentioned a few times in the story, he wouldn't make an apperance until the final chapter, where his spirit form would angrily taunt Delma by telling her to kill Darc.

Skills and Abilities[]

For the brief while that the player has Densimo, he is the strongman of the party (being replaced by Volk after the first chapter), and shares the same stats as him and Ganz. Due to his very short time in the party, Densimo can only rank up to Rank Level 2 and learn four spells. Not to mention, he is the only character in the game who cannot equip any Weapon Parts or Accessories, leaving him to only relying on base stats.

He also has one of the smallest walking ranges during battle, likely due to his large structure, only comparable to characters like Bebedora. However, due to his HP and strength and defense stats, he's a very effective tank, especially for the early game.

Trivia[]

  • Due to sharing the same base stats with Ganz and Volk, Densimo also is a victim to the Level 41 glitch. However, due to how difficult it is to train Densimo early, it is very unlikely that most players will see this.
  • If the player uses a cheating device to add Densimo back into the party after his death, during the Meshimgen fight, Densimo will have a meshimgen form. However, due to him not supposed to be in this part of the game, should a character attack it, the monster has no animations for being attacked, correct or not. If a character besides Densimo hits his, they will not transform into a meshimgen, but instead, attack others in their normal form. When his meshimgen form is killed, the model for the monster will still stay on the field, but will have no collison. This glitch extends to Samson as well.
